With students having recently returned to campuses across the state of Virginia, there will soon be an increase in social events where alcohol is served, such as back-to-school parties and tailgating for football games. These events can often lead to partygoers who have had too much to drink getting behind the wheel and causing a Roanoke Car Accident.

To help curtail drunk driving, especially amongst young people, several law enforcement and rescue agencies have come together to put on a demonstration on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg to teach about the dangers of drunk driving. According to an article from WSLS 10 News, the demonstration will feature a live scene of a simulated drunk driving accident and is set to begin today at 5:30 p.m. off of Drillfield Drive, between Davidson Hall and Sandy Hall.

During the demonstration, spectators will be able to watch as dead and injured victims of the crash are cleared from the scene by ambulance and helicopter, as well as the ramifications that a drunk driver who causes such an accident will face.

Drunk driving is a leading cause of fatal motor vehicle accidents, yet is 100 percent preventable. This is exactly why the Lynchburg Personal Injury Lawyers with the Skolrood Law Firm encourage those who are available to attend this insightful event, while also asking that we each do our part to keep Virginia’s roads safe by never drinking and driving.
