Drivers of commercial trucks and tractor-trailers are prohibited from operating along certain roads due to the increased danger for certain types of accidents. The Roanoke Truck Accident Lawyers with Skolrood Law Firm explain some residents of Little Catawba Creek Road are calling for restrictions to be placed along the route because of these risks.

An article from The Roanoke Times explains two representatives from the community approached the board of supervisors to ask that commercial trucks not be allowed to travel along the continuance of State Route 600. They cited several recent collisions along the road and blamed the accidents on trucks that were too large and heavy to safely operate along the winding road.

The residents went on to explain that many of the truckers attempt to use the route to avoid weigh stations along main interstates, while others are simply using GPS units seeking the shortest routes available.

Officials with the Virginia Department of Transportation stated they would look into the problem and investigate what solutions could be implemented.

Skolrood Law Firm’s team of Roanoke Personal Injury Lawyers applauds the efforts being made by residents of the area to protect their safety along roadways and are hopeful their call-to-action is a success!
