One of the greatest health concerns Americans face each day is the risk of heart and cardiovascular diseases, which are the number one cause of death in the United States today for men and women.

The Roanoke Personal Injury Lawyers with Skolrood Law Firm point out that the month of February has been declared American Heart Month to help increase public awareness of heart health.

As part of the event, Caring Hearts Free Clinic of Patrick County is putting on a fitness walk this coming Saturday. The Caring Hearts for Healthy Soles 10K and 3K Fitness Walk is being held at 10 a.m. at the Patrick Henry Community College Stuart site on Johnson Street.

The cost to participate is a $35 registration fee for the 10K event or $15 for the 3K. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in several different categories and the event will conclude with a chili and soup lunch.

Skolrood Law Firm supports living a healthy lifestyle and suggest citizens keep their hearts strong by eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and refraining from smoking or drinking alcohol heavily.
